Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead is every November 2nd. There is a wonderful parade in The Mission the ends in Garfield Park at the 25th Street end of Balmy Alley. People dress up in wonderful skeleton costumes and make elaborate alters in the park to recently deceased friends and family members. As the size of the parade has increased, the city has closed off Balmy Alley to the parade to better control traffic.
